i'm sure you have climbed on established routes that have seen plenty of people fall on the bolts. how about one where it's the bolt's first fall and the bolter's first time placing one? would you take a lead fall on a piece of gear placed by someone who just started climbing a month ago and hasn't ever climbed trad or placed a piece? i wouldn't.. and while i don't know most of the people that have bolted the routes i've been on, i've been on established routes that have seen traffic and falls.

as for screwing it up for others.. ehh, yeah, maybe i jumped on it a bit prematurely.. i just hate it when people say "yeah man.. do whatever you want so long as you're not hurting anyone else" and then they go and trash other people for doing what they want. maybe that's not exactly what you meant and maybe that's just how i took it.

Everyone has something to learn about everything, some people just don't appreciate there are things they can learn from others.

Take the opportunity to learn, or don't, no biggie. Thinking anyone is any less a person because they take the time to see how others may do things is fucking stupid.

If safe, skillful bolting is a sign of homosexuality, then just lube my ass with crisco and let me feel your chin stubble on my freshly shorn scrotum! Whoopee!

 I'm not feelin' the love!

I've done Terry's route at Torrent, is there something I didn't notice? I thought it was pretty cool!

Umm, does ynp1 realize that the "bolting clinics" were started at the request of other climbers?

So, you can have your opinion that the class is worthless. I'm just glad that you're too damn lazy to bolt routes. It makes me happy.

Honestly, I haven't climbed many routes in which I didn't know the person who bolted them.

i think ynp1 you are missing a point.

the fact is you can sit in a "class" and "learn" from other people. this doesn't mean that you agree with everything they say or do, in fact, i'm sure if you ever had a good idea you could have shared it and discussed it and maybe those people who were willing to donate their time to the climbing community could learn something too.

i didn't see anywhere the words "official authority" on their foreheads. just dickhead on yours.
I know that you believe that you understood what you think I said, but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.
