Actually the Bible would be more accurately described as what a handful of men interpreted to be God's word through their own spiritual vision, experiences and inner faith.
As to whether or not one would believe that to be the case in either description would depend on one's belief in such a deity..
And as to KD's delimma, I'm thinking religion is far from the right course to deal with problems that are not a consequence of faith. Sometimes people need to solve their problems with one another with more practical solutions. Faith may be a source for guidence in such an instance but actions and communication are necessary to save a marriage in trouble.
