yes!!! thanks wes for thinking of me...however, I never crush dreams on here...most people are afraid to admit they even have dreams and goals for their climbing....they cloak it in the "have fun" mentality, but inside desire something more...THAT is what I poke fun at...find me that poster, and I'll buy ten.

I have a problem with the question. Again we are back to the question, "are gym climbers REAL climbers?" I for one am a little ticked with that assertion, that just because I haven't touched anything but wood, plastic, and landed on foam rubber for safety, I am excluded from being a REAL climber? Maybe I'm just on a tirade here??? I climb only in the Gym because i'm not stupid enough to try sending 11s and 12s out on the rock the first time I go out. I believe that the real climbers are people who use their heads, train for a time to prepare, and THEN go climb the 11s and 12s and spray all the live long day to others.
Why do I climb? Because unlike any other sport I've tried Climbing takes guts, skill, and BRAINS to climb. There's more activity physically than football, or any other sport. And my placement or choosing of pro on a route determines my life being lived until a ripe old age, or decked and DOA.
I train to climb because one day I might spend a good week getting up a pitch or a face, and with a guy or girl I've built a relationship with over time and experience will get up to the peak and look out over God's creation and just look out and see for days and be in awe of my God. It's not about blunts or babes or spray, it's about the inner satisfaction and thrill.
That's why I climb.
