paul, no apologies needed. you didn't offend me or hurt my feelings, and even if you did, my liberal feel good advisors tell me that you are entitled to your opinion, and i should respect it. (unless you voted republican in the last 24 years, which in that case you are just an ignorant lad.)

what happened here is the funny part of climbing....spraying for someone else is "OK", but spraying for self is considered bad form. what gives? if we truly were happy for someone, wouldn't a private email be enough to relay our congratulations? with the onset of the internet, why do we all (myself included) think the world needs to hear everything we say?

see, I have formed the opinion that we post on here for deeper issues in our psyche...it's like the old saying "we all like to hear ourselves talk"...if we are not ready for a dissenting opinion, may I suggest we keep our views, and spray, private, thereby shielding them from critique.

wanna guess how many times I hear "tolerance" and "love" preached on here, and then get the "shut the f*** up already" line thrown my way? it only reinforces my overall point...that we all are only tolerant of views that don't diverge very far from our current worldview.

It might also be that we're a community and we're keeping up with who is taking part, what they're doing, how they're climbing, etc. This way you know a little bit about someone's abilities, interests, etc. in the event you end up climbing with them. If you find out you're going to be in a group including jenibbler (heh heh, what a stupid name) you'll know she's a beginner with potential. What you don't know is she's a cool chick so stop being a dick. Kiribell is also cool so stop being a dick to her too. And Amy (don't know her board name) is cool so don't be a dick to her. And I'll punch you in the nose if you're a dick to dipsi, ok? Look, just stop being a dick in general. Except to the 5.12 and above climbers. They deserve it. Start giving them shit. Fucking elitist assholes, think they're better than everybody else. I just wish my brother George was here.
