Oops! Last weekend I dropped a rope for the first time in my 13 years of climbing. Fortunately I was clipped into the anchors. J.J. rescued me by leading up the route next to it. Then he threw me a rope.

I can't remember how to tie a knot, and I almost left my shoes at the crag.
Maybe it's just Alhiemers though, not gumbyism.

Hey Jeff, at least you didn't forget to BRING your shoes to the crag.

I say, a rose by any name smell just as sweet and shit called a rose still stinks.
So you are what you are regardless of what label is placed upon you.

J-rock, I had a similar experience when cleaning the anchors and the rope slipped out of my hands. Fortunately I tied up a back up knot and clipped it to my harness. Regardless, it is scary scary shit.

A Gumby is a climber that never met "the Mayor".

If you all could have seen the jacked-up clip I did at the creek - brought the rope all the way around my leg to clip, thus ensuring a hella nasty fall. But, didn't fall, just looked kinda dumb. Also, z-clipped the anchors of one route and my last piece. I will always be a gumby in one aspect of climbing or another.
