Larry and I were climbing at Roadside and I was wanting to
take a giant leap upwards in the numbers, so we headed down
to that 5.7. We stickclipped the first draw because it's such a
desperate runout. It started raining like hell just then and we
pulled the rope and went back and climbed the 10s. When we
went back later my brand new draw with super-duper ultra-
shiny and sexy Spirits was gone. I was pissed.
Why was I pissed? I was pissed at myself for leaving it there
because I know damn well that if you leave gear on a route
then it's game for anybody that wants its. The term is called
"route booty." Did I complain to anybody? NO! I sucked it up
and took it like a man... I didn't cry until I got home.
Seriously, though. I'm sorry you lost your gear but leaving it
on an established route and walking away from it is just asking
for what happened.

STOLEN DRAWS
Zspider, In case you missed it, or for people who are slow - ONE draw is booty (or maybe even two). A route with a draw on all every bolt = project. Someone had draws on just about every route on the table wall at Left Flank all season. I never thought of taking them, but was glad that I didn't have to hang my own draws on Mercy.
It really isn't all that hard to clean and rehang the draws on most routes, and that is what I, personally, usually do. But, I know that if there was a route I was working and wanted to leave draws on it for a few weeks, then I would hope people could respect that, and not take my gear. I will say that leaving draws on something for months at a time, esp. during the winter is kinda asking for trouble though.

Do like I do and take someones draws off of their route and put them up on your project. It isn't technically stealing then... Just re-allocation of resources.
Hell, I took some poor guy's draws just last week and put them on my project at the Lode (Chainsaw). I wonder if he has missed them yet? Oh well...
