It was thoughtful to keep the beer lines short.

free beer and odub raps were the coolest! Even selling raffle tickets beside Meadows was fun.

If everyone thinks you have a problem, then you have a problem, no matter what the truth is. Public perception is everything for an organization like the RRGCC. Doing the right thing and fighting the good fight isn't always enough. Hopefully things will work out for the best.

The link works for me.

And as stated before, check out this link: http://www.rrgcc.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=146

As indicated, the coalition just got a major facelift last December. Less than two months ago. IMO, the election of Pres Bill will be a huge difference. Why don't we all give it a chance?

P.S. Andy, the PBC is no longer the PBC, it's the PBB. And it is cancelled for this year.

I'll be the first to admit the RRGCC hasn't done well with communication to members, other climbers, or the public since its founding back in 96. It is an issue that members, the board, and 'those incharge' are painfuly aware of and want to do something about.

Just last month there was a public meeting held at Rock Quest in Cincy. A strategic planning meeting that was open to the public. Climbers were encourage to attend, listen, and participate. I was surprised that the room was full. That was an encouraging sign for a volunteer, grass roots organization that is at a major crossroads as of the end of 2004. Last year the Coalition went through a major land purchase, ensuing court battle, and the loss of a key figure in the organization. That's a tough year for an organization of any type, non or for profit.

There will be more meetings where the climbing community can voice their opinion and lend support. There will be a part two to the strategic planning meeting held in the Red. And as always the Climbing Advisory Council is here to listen to climbers' issues. Feel free to call, e, or PM me.

Right... and you probably found that info online, like I said. But what have you seen publically posted about Roctoberfest 2005?

oddly, to me these two posts are speaking a similar point. it sucks that those who beeotch the loudest might not be the majority opinion.

The RRGCC has done alot for the future of climbing in the Red River Gorge. Why is everbody so hard on them...If it was not for the hard work of this group climbing in the area might not be what it is today. :?
