I don't care about the view or the exposure but I like longer climbs because there is a better chance of death. Yea, DEATH.

i've never done even a two hundred foot route. i want to, i had to say long and easy, cause that is what i want to do. maybe eventually2,900 ft. of 5.12 and offwidths. mmmmmm offwidth :twisted:

You might want to check out Free Rider, jcwhite... that sounds a lot like the description in the article on Steph Davis's free ascent of it.

have any of you really been that high before?? a couple hundred feet isnt much to brag about. you have to get in the thousands before you can say you have really been exposed.

Unfortunately, I have done two big routes shortly after someone has died on them. In one case a solid climber got blown off an easy climb with 70ft of rope out. The other was a slip in a chimney with a placement blowing. It doesn't settle well when you have to pass a makeshift cross at the base of a climb.

This summer was the first time that i got up considerably hight on a route. We did the snake dike route on half dome and granted the climbing was casual, for the most part, it was rad. It's a totally different ball game than the short hard stuff. Awesome in it's own right, just different.
