More bolts at Roadside
Okay. I didn't think the route was that big of a deal. Seems to me that it's a little late to hope for an uncrowded Roadside on the weekend. I lobbied for no bolts on Pulling Pockets and nobody cared. I lobbied for no bolts on Fadda, and nobody cared. I lobbied for no anchors on Roadside attraction and nobody cared.
Now, it seems that Roadside is a destination for folks wanting a gym climbing experience. What it lacks are moderate routes for those folks. That's why I've been putting them in where possible. I'm not really in favor of dumbing down routes, but I'm pragmatic as well. If there is a desire/need for moderate routes, or routes with easy anchors, and it's located at an already well developed area, then why not?
If any of you feel strongly about it, go chop the bolts. I don't care. There are probably 1000 more poorly protected trad routes to do in the Red if that's your thing. I'm one of the few who likes those routes, but I don't think Valor is classic by any means.
