Members of the UC Mountaineering Club have walked in and hauled out trash from several different USFS land locations over the years. Have a shuttle to drop people off from Miguel's and then come pick up people and the trash later in the day.

He he heeee. I'd still require some proof that it was a climber before I volunteer to clean up human excrement. It could be a disgruntled oil worker defecating on the rigs to get back at his supervisor. There are so many possible scenarios, I don't know where to begin.

Yea if this is serious I might be able to get a small group from Columbus to help out with a clean-up...BUT I really don't think we need to clean-up shit..trash will be fine. Shit will wash away on its own.

Yeah, plus you can just use a stick and flick the turds over the hill. There it will blend in with the natural environment and other forest creature droppings such as deer and goat turds. :)

if any of you are not burying your excrement properly, I recommend that you get the book How to Shit in the Woods (seriously!) and learn how to do this the right way, and in the right places. I refuse to believe that climbers have taken dumps on oil co. equipment... If I witnessed something like this, I'd grab that shit and throw it at the shitter.

You'd grab shit? Barehanded? Damn, you are hard frikkin' core. I don't even pick up dog turds without rubber gloves.

LOL! Yeah, we need to potty-train climbers. Perhaps this can be a seminar at Derbyfest? How to Poop in the woods without getting any on you or anyone else.

That's a great idea, Sprag. There are actually some serious considerations to defecating in the woods, for example, avoiding watersheds. I wonder how many climbers are aware of the Proper Outdoor Off-loading Protocols (also known as POOP)? I'd offer to teach the seminar, but my exhibitionist days are long behind me.
