I give another thumbs up to the French Press....it's a miracle worker when you're living in a tent for an extended amount of time without electricity...

Back to the instant coffee....
anything kick starts me for a day of climbing. Crawl out of the tent, and add water....easy as pie.
and...the stonger you make the brew...the faster you get the 'morning brew'

In Ecuador it is common to drink instant coffee in hot milk with sugar.
Be unfamiliar with the custom I took a heaping spoonful of the coffee powder (because even snobs sometimes just gotta-have it however you can get it) and a little spoonful of the sugar. Much to the bewilderment of the people around me who took 1/2 tsp of the coffee and 4 tblsp of the sugar! Talk about a kick-start for the sugar-high.
Does make you wonder why we drink what we drink.
Also, Yasi, "chai" is tea in many of the dialects of India too. Crazy. When you ask for chai though it is the general way of preparing tea...I think...kind of like asking for a cappaccino as though it is just a cup of java.

The first and last time I ever bought a Starbucks coffee was in Cinci. Due to the horrible taste and the excessive price, I just about started the Cinci Coffee Party in the Ohio River.

It's awesome! I've been buying the french press travel mugs as Christmas presents for my outdoor peeps. Look for them at Starbucks, porterproducts.com or even cheaper, mgear.com (it's a porter mug too).

I disagree with that one. I love the taste of coffee. I drink decaf on most days and enjoy it just as much.
