huggybone..so if god and jesus were ripping on homosexuality and fornicators in the same sentence, am I to assume he detests those acts equally? any unmarried couple having sex is just as disgusting in god's eyes as are homosexuals?

if any poster has unmarried sex, seems to me a bit hypocritical to go after the gay community with the religious angle....

ok, huggybone, not to let this topic get too far off mark, but "bingo" was not the proper term here....I said god "detested" both groups, and I do not believe that for a second....

in the strict sense, I would guess god dislikes certain actions that he perceives as seperating us from knowing him better, but if we believe that we are created in his image, I would also have to assume for him to detest a part of himself is a bit of a quandry. i prefer to believe that god loves everyone equally, without reservation, otherwise the demerits would add up quickly in the book of life...there ain't a human being who lived who can pull off being "good enough" to find favor with god...

and then again, it doesn't matter squat what I think...a speck of dust in the matter of time...

The problems in Africa are mostly caused by unsanitary medical practices. They will innoculate a whole village with the same needle. They (being the indigeneous medical staff) will try to autoclav or sanitize medical instruments and not be successful. It is estimated that 37% of all HIV infections in Africa are from I V Drug use and unsafe sex. Guess where the other 63% is from........unsanitary medical practices.

The problems in Africa are directly proportional to the amount of money spent on medical gear.
European businesses who have assets in Africa will send their people down there with a trauma kit that includes needles, sterilized medical equipment and almost everything that they could possible use if one of their employees is shot, in a car accident, needs a vacination or becomes sick in any way. It's because they know that the medical sanitation in Africa is almost non existent.

Wha? You've obviously been primarily exposed to crap, sloppy, wanna-be, imitation Deconstruction. Are you familiar with Derrida's reading of Plato's Phaedrus? Sure, deconstruction is philosophy that is primarily concerned with philosophy, but if you can demonstrate that even the claims of truth of Plato/Socrates are built on a foundation of sand, that has just a wee bit of signifigance for all claims of truth, which extends to fields that have a little more import than "mere philosophy." (After all this whole thread was started by someone who thinks that he can make a claim of truth based on "natural law")

dirt, and your point....its a story....

got a question for you bible scholars..why is it when noah built the ark, christians want us to take the dimensions literally (as far as the numbers go), yet just 3-4 verses earlier, there is talk of methusaleh being 969 years old...does any one even think that number is literal...
