Have you noticed how it's impossible not to talk like Mitch once you've listened to him for awhile? Really, it's challenging to revert to a normal tone of voice! Especially in the presence of those who know what you're talking about!

YES!!! It's the incredibly addictive MITCH speech pattern. My old roommate was stuck with it for a couple quarters. It made quality roommate time really interesting.
"On a traffic light green means go and yellow means yield, but on a banana it's just the opposite. Green means hold on, yellow means go ahead and red means where the fuck did you get that banana at..."
*sigh*

Oh, hey, but don't forget the misuse of the word "got", meaning to receive, aquire or otherwise take possesion of, all past tense. "got" IS a verb, but does not imply the action of DOING something (i.e. "We've got to get out of here" is completely wrong, but very commonly spoken, there is no need for the word "got"...re-read "We have to get out of here"...same number of words, same message conveyed).

Sorry to quote the entire above post... oh, no I'm not. Why should I waste my time erasing crap to save SPACE for Christ's sake?
Anyway, it's a simple error and regional and may become standard usage after a while. They're using "have got" instead of "must." "Must" sounds... "uppity." "I must go!" sounds stuck up while "I've gotta go" sounds warm and human.

That's real nice......three people, one correcting the first and the other correcting the latter. LOL
