Remember Louie Anderson and the line he claimed to have climbed- Refiner's Fire, a 14+ that would have been years ahead of its time? I wonder if anyone has gone back to it now that the standards have gone up?

Yes, a classic tale...Randy Leavitt even offered him $10,000 if he could repeat it with witnesses present. Apparently he never did... Last I heard that route is not done anymore due to "broken holds"--not sure if it ever got "repeated" or not.

Once you strike your deal with the devil and start cashing sponsorship checks, you will be expected to answer any reasonable question about your sponsored activities. If you refuse to answer questions like "who was your belayer on that route ?" you're either admitting that you were living a lie, or you're the most self-destructive idiot imaginable.
