Seems the the folks doing development lately have been coorperative with each other as far as coordinating bolting at each other's undocumented crag. That's cool.

I haven't heard much in the way of someone claiming an entire wall and expecting it to be off limits. It seems like an approaching develper asks "Hey, so what's the deal with x or y?" and the person that got the ball rolling would respond "Have at it" or "I'm about to put up this and that, but aside from that go for it".

I am encouraged by what I see/hear happening and will provide the same courtesy, regardless of what side I'm on, should I be in that position.

The scenario I laid out is one where routes and gear hanging around are obvioulsy fresh. Clearly there are a wide range of situations that would change one's decision.

It really comes down to courtesy and respect. The more courteous and respectful you are the more trouble you would go through to find the original developer. When I'm developing I don't feel like a line is "mine" until I have anchors on it. However if I find a cliff with ongoing development I just keep on walking cause we haven't scratched the surface of what's out there. Just a matter of gaining access(reason to continue to support RRGCC, they do more than you'll ever know).

cool dssclimb..next time I see your static hanging with no anchors, I'll send you a note of thanks after I bolt it;)

Be sure to do the same to Mike-anderson if you see any of his fixed lines, because that's the way he rolls. I guess I was just shit out of luck with running out of daylight and not being able to put in a bolt to CLAIM my line. I guess I figured a fixed line hanging at the spot would suffice. Not the case

well, now that we have called them out, mr mike anderson what do you have to say in your defense....

the first impressions you have left wiht the band of bolters is not that good...and jugging someones fixed rope AND bolting from it will get you major bad karma points..or maybe the line should just be stripped.
