I have an Eagle's Nest Outfitters double nest. Damn comfy, fits two in a pinch, and packs down to a little bigger than a softball. I tend to not bring it to the crag, but it's A+ for camp luxury- WAY better than a crazy creek!

I have the same one... Very comfy for 2. I also don't bring it to the crag. Why, because I think hammocks at the crag are stupid. When I go climbing, I'm there to climb and not waste time or space packing around/setting up a hammock. Plus, hammocks usually accompany large groups.... like the group of 8 (yes, 8!!) from colorado that set up camp directly underneath the route we were on a few weeks ago, putting up their hammocks all over the place and laying gear about like they were having a yard sale. you see it all the time with those hammock folk. not to mention the impact on the small trees people use to hang their hammock... If you're gonna hang one, use a fucking bigger tree!

A couple of years ago a French Canadian climber hung a hammock on the only trail to the Solarium and blocked the entire trail while he napped all afternoon. People had to crawl on all fours to go underneath him. What's your opinion?
Hauling a big ego up a route adds at least a full grade.

What situation counts as "a pinch," where the solution is two people in the hammock? Or is it a portaledge?
Hauling a big ego up a route adds at least a full grade.

They should fence in the whole goddam gorge with barbed wire and machine gun towers and make it a concentration camp for hippies!

HA hammocks, I didn't see that one coming.

"You know you are a gumby if you bring a hammock to the cliff!" ~ can someone add that one to the list.

Oh and if you are going to stuff your kid in a hammock so he or she will behave, can you also stuff your dog in there too?

each crag should have a guard and a stock pile of hammocks, bongo drums, guitars, joints, bongs, beer, and acid. When anybody complains the guard should put on some Rusted Root or Radiohead music until they quiet down. Oh yea and birth control lets not forget that.

What the hell is wrong with Radiohead? I don't think I have ever considered them a hippie band.
