so you personally have spoken to the people who live in the last house on bald rock road and they personally asked you to tell all climbers to slow down.

oh yeah, where exactly is this 15 mph speed limit sign?

Only on a State Highway, and not in a residential zone.

As you enter Bald Rock and yes, I have spent time with them. Wonderful people.

Let me try a dramatic story for this situation because those tend to hit home.

Little Tommy who was merely 4 years old was playing on Bald Rock fork rd one day. He stood on the deck of the house and kicked his dodge ball as hard as he could past the road and into the open field. It went far and so he pursued after the ball.

Intent on getting the ball, he did not recognize the Toyota Forerunner speeding down the road with European Techno blaring through the open windows. And in a flash, Tommy was down gasping for his last breath and before he parents could reach him, he took that last breath and was gone.

The ineffable despondency and anger the parents experienced lead them to the unthinkable. They were going to bury Tommy on Bald Rock semetary. Fenced and cursed and forewarned by ancestors, burying the dead there is an abominable act that brings the dead back to life. The barrier was not meant to be crossed. The ground is sour.

Later that night, while a row of cars lined up behind the Hyundai Elantra trapped in the ruts of the treacherous hill known as the Motherlode Hill, climbers pondered with anxiety how to escape their situation. It's that damn road!

Night had long come for it's rotation, and Tommy was breathing life again, but with wild eyes, fangs and the demon of revenge. He clawed his way out of the grave and killed all the climbers stuck on the hill.

For the sake of the climbers and children, please slow down.

Thats not true. The State speed limit in Ky is 55 unless otherwise posted.

Hey Stephanie,
Thank You for your concern about keeping things in order here in the Red. It's people like you that are making the Red a great place!
Just keep in mine that some people only live to start trouble. They can't be happy unless they are trying to push someone’s buttons. I'm not sure why they do this.
There was a time a few years ago at Red River Outdoors when Joe thought it would be funny to goose me while I was at the computer counter. I spun around and busted him in the mouth for being such a perverted asshole, and told him that if he ever touched me again, I was going to kill him. There were several folks there, including his wife at the time, who saw this happen. To his credit, he did say that he was sorry and it hasn't happened again. I'm sure I'm not telling you anything about his character that you don't already know, but maybe someone who doesn't know him will see this and they can save them self the trouble of ever spending time around him.
Again, I appreciate you making the Red a better place, not just on here, but all of the stuff that you do to help advance climbing.
You are an unsung hero...(That's my opinion and I hope it counts!!)
Your advice to Joe to waste his energy elsewhere is the best thing I have seen on this website in a long time.

From the pdf you posted:

"The speed limit for motor vehicles on state highways shall be as follows, unless conditions exist that require lower speed for compliance with subsection (2) of this section, or the secretary of the Transportation Cabinet establishes a different speed limit in accordance with subsection (4) of this section:
(a) Sixty-five (65) miles per hour on interstate highways and parkways;
(b) Fifty-five (55) miles per hour on all other state highways; and
(c) Thirty-five (35) miles per hour in a business or residential district."

I would assume that the area in question is a residential district. Tell me if you are seeing something else in that pdf that you linked.

what have you done other than bitch and moan? Meadows has done more for climbing in the red than you have ever dreamed of doing. how many trail days you been to? how many meetings have you attended, how many time have you offered your "badass truck" to help move materials? How bout just walking up a trail picking up trash?

Why dont you stop worrying about everyone else and get off your ass and make a differance. The fact is you are a giant chuffer and we all know it. The sad part is you dont.

Grow up and get a life.
