Does rock climbing need to get "big"

are you saying i need to quit my job and develop a bigger ego? cause nobody that works 9-5 can possibly get strong. is there anyone out there with a personal testimonial that can disprove this myth?

i personally knew one fellow who worked 9-5 and nights at another job who onsighted BOHICA. is that strong?

I started at the red in 92 and on a weekend there were about 10 tents on the back...
I am with Kris...I appreciate more the outdoors than before...I still hate mosquitoes.
I think climbing and climbers are better to the environment than this...

Climbing is really good for nature. Here is a play by play of my awesome weekend of not-hurting-the-world.

1.I got in my car and burned 20 gallons of gasoline to get to the gorge
2.I walked into the woods with a power drill. Then, I drilled some holes into the sandstone to insert scrap metal
3. I eliminated all the spiders and birds that lived in the route I was bolting. Where do they get off thinking they can just hang out on the cliffs???
4. I left chalk on the walls, toilet paper in the woods and cliff bar wrappers everywhere in between
5. I burned 20 more gallons of gas to go back home.

Thank god I had such a low impact weekend as opposed to say, sitting on my ass and watching football. Now thats bad!

You did not drive to get the beer or what ever you are eating that day...you walked to the store...I see...
And you really don't watch the TV to use electricity...you imagine how the game is going...
But I am really glad you are not one impacting the rock...maybe sit your ass down and watch climbing videos...that would be best for you

this thread is as good as the dog threads....

for those who started climbing around 01/02, we thought you guys were causing the crowding then...I doubt climbing is any bigger now than 15 yers ago. just more online ways to spray about it. gumballs are forever he same..and please remember that being a gumball has very little to do with how hard or how long you have been climbing.

if you can't recognize that, then you're the gumball.

now seriously, let's all hike our dirty toilet paper out of the crag. above all, that is my biggest pet peeve. just don't light it on fire... you might torch up solar collector/gold coast.
