pigsteak, don't characterize me as a typical lib. Still registered independent, and I vote on both sides of the aisle when it works for me.

That said, I was never aware of any characteristics in Obama other than moderate, which is why he got my vote. No way in hell I would have voted for Dodd or that whackjob Pelosi, or Kucinich. Same with Huckabee or the post 2004 McCain. Radicals are not who I want running my country, pragmatism should trump ideology EVERY time.

Also, Bush II was anything but traditionally conservative. He demonstrated a hard leaning towards Neo-con, a military industrial colonialism, and radical free market capitalism but when that comes at the cost of financial pragmatism and limited government you can't call it Conservatism. Social conservative does not a traditional conservative make. Clinton was a better republican than Bush II ever was.

.......so, you still blame Bush. At some point you'll have to get over it. Hasn't Congress been controlled by a Democrat majority for the last 2 years? When I went to school, I was taught in Gub'ment class that Congress had to approve what the president proposes, and a veto could be overridden by a 2/3 majority. Now, I'm not saying Bush was a stellar president, far from it. Was McCain a better choice? Not really, a war hero does not a president make. I'm just wondering who will get all the blame 2 years from now.

TradWanker, read that again. If you actually thought about the quoted statement you'd think maybe I place some blame on Clinton too. Regardless, that comparison was in terms of the classic Republican agenda (of which I am a fan) instead of new aged neo-con social conservative agendas (of which I am anything but a fan).

In short, STFU, you're out of your element.

No Piggie, that means "shut the fuck up", which clearly crosses the line between debate and "I want my ass kicked" I've been gaming online since you could game on line. I also have been active on forums like this since their inception, that's how gamers communicate. There have always been those, like charlie here, who have to cross that line. We cal them "smacktards" They sit behind their computers and say things like that, because there is no consequence for their actions.

So tell me charlie, oh great god of all political wisdom, what exactly is my element?

I am not sure you are correct, cuz charlie refused to give us his style update on the other thread, and I think he is a closest frat boy who shows off his shiny belt buckles like kek-san....
