The "surge" didn't have much to do with it. The sectarian cleansing and displacement of millions of Iraquis combined with paying the militia not to shoot at us was resulting in rapidly decreasing violence well before the "surge" began.

I put quotes around the word surge because it was actually an escalation of our illegal occupation of another country. Surge used to be a brand of soft drink with extra caffeine.

You know how we know the sectarian cleansing was going on and it corresponded to the decline in violence? As they fled their homes they turned out the lights. We saw it with our satellites.

No matter what you say, Bush got us into a stupid fucking war we never should have started and he FUCKED IT UP for six fucking years and now that the blood bath has happened (just really slowly) and the neighborhoods have been emptied and everyone with money and skill has fled to Siria or Greenland or wherever (oddly enough we only take a few thousand of the tens of millions of refugees we're responsible for) and you call that victory? Sounds like a fucking mess to me.

Sounds like another enraged, insane comment from the usual source to me. :D

"Obama asks Gates to stay on as Secretary of Defense". You gotta love that shit.

Yeah, it is gonna be really tough for a lot of people come next year. Who are we going to have to blame our problems on? Alan and the rest of the moveon.org haters are going to have to find a new target.....

President and Congress...there will be nobody left to blame. The last time this happened, mid-term elections were pretty hard on the dems...
