On the islands such a challenge would be answered musically with a response from another calypso mon, but Odub is alone. :D

I guess there is some of this political play in the rap genre but the frequency pales in comparison to calypso's hundred-plus-year history of political commentary.

My understanding is that the perpetrator is contrite and repairs have been made. The song does not have to translate as a lionization of the doer, just the deed.

Ah that makes sense, I started reading your post and my brain glazed over cus it was learning crap, then all of a sudden your talking about some guy named kenny anthony who seemed to be irrelevant to the situation or anything involving me. I could have clicked on one of those posts but I was afraid of the possibility of more learnin. Carry on.

Well Kris, you did a good job at a skillful well peiced rap. I saw the post about the hateful e-mails you made. So I can not comment on that side of it all, but it was a pretty harsh rap. But whatever that is ya'lls deal there. But out of curiosity, when you wrote about it, did you thing of the bolt wars and hang-dog feuds that they had back in the day? It is just a little caveman flavor added to the present climbing world again eh?

Any how, hope yiur doing alright and see you around.

this song is just another way kris can make money and please his sponsors. getting involved with something he is not part of (i dont know what he emailed you, but why the fuck was he emailing you?? you had nothing to do with his act.)... its not the first time(delicate arch).. and i am sure it is not the last.

if you want a rock climbing police... well you got one and he raps (kind of)...

what i can't believe, is the number of people that seem to sincerely like the climbing rap. i mean, it's funny and all, but sometimes i'll see people playing it and really getting into the beat.

i view it more as a once-a-year-birthday-clown-kind-of-thing...funny and slightly entertaining to kids, but after some thought you feel kind of bad for the clown who actually does it for a job.

alternatively, i could be biased due to my general disdain of rap in recent years. which brings up another question - isn't it weird how you can really like a certain song/music genre for a while, then completely hate it? they say ones choice of music is a manifestation of that person's emotions. maybe it's because i got rid of my front-tooth gold cap?

Probably the same reason you posted this... because you feel entitled to be involved just because its there...

I don't guess I need a reason if you don't...
