even with a cheat sheet, i can never be sure but it looks like that was a juvenile southwestern red-tailed hawk. the other i'm pretty sure is an adult southwestern great horned owl.

Are you sure? One of those looked a LOT like a southern Purple-Headed Yougurt Slinger. Really cool shots though Wes. It must be nice to be somewhere WARM right now! :)
