Piggie, you don't have to apologize. You can't help that you are such a smart, rational, strapping man.

Granted, the top 5 were all "copy and paste" posts, with the top 5 being: SCIN, SCIN, "Lynne" (a little nostalgia for those who were here in those days), Alan Evil, and ray. I didn't look beyond those.
I'm not sure wether to be releived or challenged!?!

Oh - back on topic: Blah blah religion blah blah blah God blah blah bigphilosphyword blah blah!

So there!

If mainstream chirstianity is BS, then you have to say so is Islam, Buddhism, liberal christianity like JB's, etheral spirituality like charlie's, and yoga good vibes like my wife's, etc..
Just to be an equal opportunity hater:

WTF is up with those 'hardcore atheists' who seem totally like religious zeaots?

Let's not forget to bash right-wing fundamentalist Hindus! They're some crazy motherfuckers (right up there with all the other fundamentalists) The BJP (the Hindu Nationalist party in India) are total role-models for far-right Republicans - corruption, thuggery, re-writing history, etc.) Check into the sectarian violence in Gujarat a few years ago...

And those cheezy-cruchy Americans doing yoga and pretending it isn't a religious practice. Hell, there's a branch of 'real' yoga that is totally sitting there meditating. What about that Bikram Yoga crap - you can't patent or trademark yoga. What a scam!

As far as I'm concerned Soviet Communism was just another religion - look into the essentially metaphisical aspects of Marxism - how's that for a faith-based, irrational belief system? And how about the end result? Mmmm! Quality!

And don't get me started on Scamitology or 'cult lite' groups like est/Landmark!

Damn, Tom, did you have a heart-to-heart with Alan Evil over some free-trade coffee recently?

My opinion is that it is a money making scam that takes parts of the psychological manipulation techniques (aka 'brainwashing') from military boot camp, tent revivals and Scamitoloty and blends them together. It was originally called 'est' but after a lot of bad publicity and accusations by the founder/owner's daughter of sexual molestation, the company was 'sold' to the guy's brother, and "Werner Erhard" can't set foot in the US or he'll be arrested and tried.

It's really astoundingly brilliant - it isn't a full blown cult, so the people it manipulates can hold down normal jobs (and, surprise! volunteer!) for the company, it uses genius viral marketing and some of truly the best salespeople I have ever seen in my life. Why start a religion when you can own a for-profit company?

ok so I talked to a friend last night who drove down to the "creation museum" yesterday. She wanted to see the spectacle, I gave her crap for give them the $15 admission fee. The way she described it, it sounds pretty unbelievable...literally.

So yes their big thing is dinosaurs and human walked the earth together. They claim the "flood" is what caused all the major changes on the earth and that the earth is only about 5,000 years old. The funniest part is their thing on speciation. Species did evolve but only after the flood. And when they did evolve it was very quickly...LOL Oh and Noa forgot to let dinasaurs on the arch and so they died in the flood. I bet God is still pissed at Noa for that one....LOL Lets see what else..oh poisonous animals are a result of the "fall of man", damn that Eve, its her fault we have mosquitos!

She said the scariest part was how full the parking lot was and how many out of state cars where there.

so you gave her a fish and you're terrified of license plates sounds unbelievable but for every action there is an equal an opposte reaction, so maybe you digressed as others evolved
