Is it just me but 156 for 6 feet tall is already very skinny...if you are not climbing higher than you wish with this weight you better start looking at technique, time climbing etc etc...but not getting smaller.

Listen to Lurk and SCIN. To keep up with that much activity and not suffer you should be resting more and putting way serous focus on your diet.

HIIT owns for cardio, I've been focusing on it since the new year.

At 6 ft, 155 you're not too heavy. I'd concentrate on resting more and gaining strength as opposed to losing weight (lift or boulder). The same simple area of focus (even increasing the time) is why you've "plateaued." More of the same will not help after you've stopped making progress, it's time to shake it up.

Vary your training (as in more than just running all the time with the occasional climbing session) and freakin REST!!!!!!!

I'd suggest smoking. That will limit how much you beat the hell out of yourself running, all the top climbers smoke to so when in France...

running is like other resistance exercises..ya gotta mix it up to keep seeing results...speed, tempo, long runs, track workouts, trails, hills, fartlek, sprints, etc....your body will adapt in no time at all to whatever wokout you are on. I'd say after 3-4 weeks change it up...my current favorite is to run 4 minutes at a 10-k race pace, and then walk for one minute.....continue for 45 minutes total. leaves me feeling "worked" but not tired.

Set the incline higher - reduces stress. It's a better workout anyway.

He is only experiencing some overtraining. One just needs to back off occasionally and relax for a few days then hit it hard again. Climbing is a sport that requires all around athletic ability....running delivers endurance while weights give power. The technique however will just come from more climbing. I have found that to mitigate these symptoms just train in cycles broken up by breaks of 3 to 4 days. You can be a good runner and a good climber.

Sounds like overtraining. I experienced something similar. I was losing weight and gaining speed and endurance running, but my climbing performance was declining. I reduced the running speed and distance, added protein to my diet, and tried to address some of the head issues that come with a performance drop. Several weeks later, climbing stronger (still not in the same class as many on the forum, but stronger for me). And as a bonus I am still steadily losing weight, though at a reduced rate.

My general plan: spin and lift opposing muscle group Monday, Light run and boulder Tuesday, Medium run and Yoga Wednesday, Light run and board or pullup workout, Friday spin or slack depending on fatigue, Weekends slack, climb, work on the house, maybe a light run. When the plan doesn't work out I play DDR for and hour or two.

If your goal is to lose weight, your climbing will not immediately improve. If your goal is to be a better climber, concentrate on climbing consistently, warmup, cool down and get good cardio in the 60-70% range for 30 minutes or more three times a week. Results will come, but not instantly.

Oh and the best advise I got for climbing in the red was from Terry. Don't get pumped and don't fall off, the rest is easy.
