This is true, though when you roll with this crew, you are nearly on top rope, even if you are sketching 20 feet up. There is never "You are on your own" Well, only when heckling, that is.
The bald is cool for sure. And really, there IS more to it the just the blocks. It is 420 and burritos at the black cat, catching a show at the orange peel, passing a bottle around a rocktown fire and on and on and on. For all the great days I have had at the red and around the US, the percentage of my very "Best" days is very much tipped toward the bouldering in the SE trips.

Without a doubt. I gave up on the Red for 2 years because of Rocktown and the Bald and will never regret it.
Granted, all that has changed. There is no boldering in the south, y'all should keep chuffing at the Gorge. This is not the climbing experience you are looking for.

This thread has gotten me thinking about the 3 years i put the rope down and bouldered with Buster about every freaking weekend. i consider many of those days as the "best and funnest" days of my climbing career. as an added bonus, when i came back to the Red my power base had moved up considerably and my ability to do routes (once i got the endurance back) was greatly improved.

i devoted about 2 years of my climbing life to bouldering when I was out in vegas. Good times.
I'm definitely down with checking out the bald, and can provide above average spotting services.
