(1) small coffee can
(1) roll TP
(1) bottle of rubbing alcohol
Instant cheap heat... Burns for hours... When the TP starts to burn... blown it out, add more alcohol, relight...

When is the battery operated electric blanket lined chalkbag gonna hit the stores?
Maybe with one of those 5 lb. rechargeable drill batteries-

Already working on it. That and a device that will keep your hands warm while climbing (sport only, no crack climbing).

i know nothing about car camping in the cold so this may be a silly question, but what's the best way for keeping your car warm at night when you're sleeping in it? i know blake uses a propane heater - turns it on, warms up the truck, turns it off, goes to sleep, wakes up cold, repeats. are there better ways? what about electric blankets? is there a way to power them all night? that would be super nice.
great topic, btw.

They did a study in Antartica where they placed a small heater over your heart area. It tricks the body into pumping warm blood into the extremities. Apparently, it makes a huge difference. Just need to eat a lot of calories.

Why buy a DC electric blanket that will only help you near a cigarette lighter? Buy a 0 or -15 bag and you can use it in your car or your tent.

Why spend all the money on one of those fancy -15 sleeping bags when you can buy a Coleman emergency blanket for $2.00. Line the inside of your sleeping bag and you will certainly be toasty, or better yet, line the inside of your car and your breath will eventually warm the car. Propane heaters seem like they would suffocate you with the fumes. And sax, you better put your hand warmer model out fast cus I am already working on mine.
