Krampus - Have you ever put any thought into what this world would be like without America? Do you think we'd be better off ruled by the former Soviet Union, Nazi Germany, or Imperial Japan. You realize those were pretty much the choices, don't you?

sorry, alan, I just reported this like a lemming...

dude, you have got to be seriously happy that things are looking brighter in Iraq...we screwed up badly over there to start, and it is up to us to fix it best we can...

get your head out of yer ass, and start pulling for things to improve so our troops can come home...jesus, why do some people just love to see the US lose?

that being said, alan, do you have any comment on the latest Hillary rampage and denial? you know, the fund raiser where she stiffed the host, denied even knowing the man, and left him with the bill after he donated to her campaign and the Clinton library....sorry, must be all lies..I heard it on NPR...

You talk as if the America of 2007 is somehow equal to the America of the past. It is not. The Bush administration and people that believe in it have made us far less than we have ever been. We are no longer a beacon of freedom and hope, no longer the moral superiors. In the eyes of most of the world we are a bunch of ignorant bullies ruled by arrogant assholes elected by blithering idiots.

If the America of today was faced with a power equivalent to Japan we'd go shopping. To equate this administration with any other wartime admistration is the equivalent of fucking rape on the corpses of those previous Presidents. Bush/Cheney is a stain on history and a giant black smear on America.

You funny funny man. Did you also hear the interviews with several different Iraqi officials in which they basically said, "Man, this is great, but it won't last."

I refuse to be optimistic about what we're doing in the Middle East. Like I said before, we finally get enough troops in there to keep the opposition* in hiding while things get calm but we cannot maintain the troop levels for more than a few months more without a draft and we all know the chicken shit right wingers aren't going to allow their children to join the army for god's sake.

And I do think we should remember the fact that the fuck ups of this admistration have lead to the deaths of at least 100,000 innocent Iraqi civilians. A few weeks or months of relative calm don't mean shit to the bereft.

*I think LKDay like all right wingers is fooling himself thinking Al Quaeda in Iraq is more than a minor player

I hope things work out in Iraq. Hope violence continues to decrease, hope government stability increases. Hope that our folks working over there can come home. Proud of our guys over there, I know the vast majority are doing a great job.

I know that the admin made plenty of mistakes. I also know that the dems and press have a tough time when things start to go well.

Evil sez, "You talk as if the America of 2007 is somehow equal to the America of the past. It is not."

And this is why we'll never agree on anything.

But it is kind of funny, don't you think, that a "progressive" like you, thinks that our best days are past, and a "conservative" like me, thinks that we're getting better all the time, and that our best and brightest days are ahead of us?

I do not think our best days are past but I am positive that these are not our best days. My hope is we will get better. Your hope is we will become more barbaric and more ignorant.

Really? It seems like the people who walk intoa crowd and blow up a bunch of innocent folks are the once hoping for ignorance and barbarism.

How do you deal with some of the more evil types we've had to face. Talking? What if they don't want to talk?

Alan I dopn't think you have bad intentions. Don't know much about you beyond this thread. But just because wes eem to disagree, I won't say that you want the country or the world to be worse. Do you really think Larry wants us wo be more barbaric? Sound silly to me.
