I listen to conservative talk radio a lot lately. It makes me laugh every time. Especially Michael Savage, he's a hoot.

NPR bores me with their effort at real journalism.

Hoot is an understatement! Where is he? I can't find him anymore!
What I love about running is you can meditate while running. It's a peaceful place.

he's on 96.1 in the evenings here in lexington. At least I think he is. Last time I heard his show I think he was in hiding from all the immigrant protesters outside his studio because he said he hoped they would starve to death or something...lol.

96.1 is funny. They say 360 degrees of talk radio, but they are 100% conservative in content.

I don't really get up early, but in the morning they have neil botz or something like that. He's not that entertaining though, kinda boring. Then they have O'reilly, and it really doesn't get much more entertaining than that. Sometime later in the day they have Dennis Miller. His show really isn't good unless of course you enjoy listening to him and comtemplating how somebody could possibly lose all ability to be funny like he has.

Laura Ingram is on after that. She's only funny sometimes. Most of the time she's dumb.

Michael Savage is and O'reilly are really the only ones that make me laugh consistently.

I wish I had your sense of humor, but it's tough to find stuff like this funny:

It's a very special mix of stupidity and hatred...

I find it funny only because of my elitist liberal leanings that allow me to look down upon the plight of the right wingers and laugh.

Besides, stupid hateful people make for devoted listeners. Its a good business model. Also a good political platform.

yawn, sounds like someone is pissed because Air America sucked so bad. However,I lean right, and even I find the conservative talk shows demeaning, irritating, and laughable. Savage is almost scary in his hatred.

However, you take life too serious tomdarch. It is about the money...duh.

That being said, I applaud the right wingers capitalistic appeal. Somebody is advertising, like Shamis said, so if you don't like it, write to the sponsors. That, my friend, is democracy at work. Quit moaning and start writing.

I agree..NPR is a snooze, and I listen at least 30 minutes everyday....they need to spice it up if they want the disenchanted and young to connect.

I hate it when "mee-shell" norris enunciates he name....gag me with a spoon mee-shell....

It's more like "stop buying" then "start writing".

I'm going to violate that old rule about discussions on the internets - if I recall correctly, Germany was more or less a capitalist democracy in the 30s, and a bunch of hateful morons teamed up with people who wanted to make money. Together, they abused the democratic system and formed Nazi Germany. Michael "Savage" (it isn't even his real name) and his ilk use their lies to actually effect our country and the world. I'm sure that in the late 40s there were people in Germany saying, "but I was just out to make a buck, I had no idea where it would lead...."

Even without the US descending into facism, the reality is that people listen to hate like Savage or a lot of preachers, then go out and beat gay people to death or murder Sikhs (who are pretty non-violent, but basically only get violent against muslims - oh, the irony). Do we want an America that becomes more or less like Iran?

I'm endlessly surprised how popular NPR actually is - how many vaguely with-it young Americans have never heard (of) This American Life?

But I am sort of with you when I still say that Nina Totenberg + huge implants = improvement of the discourse in America!

Its especially funny that everybody on NPR speaks in a relaxed and gentle voice, wheras everybody on 96.1 is in full on rage just about every day.

Yesterday laura ingrahm was complaining about the pornification of america. lulz.

You don't hate gay people nearly enough to lean right. You also don't complain about taxes, and mexicans everyday.

yeah, but if people really knew my thoughts on those subjects, I lose my nut job right wing "hater" status on here. and it is much more fun to be loathed than loved....
