I would probably go with Sloopy's idea. One reason are llama's are just flat out awesome, and I'd rather be spit on than kicked by a stuborn ass. And you're probably more likely to get kicked anyway.

The road will only get worse.. Once the horizontal runts start they just get worse. Kinda like moguls(sp) on a ski sloop.
Ought to cut back on car and other low ground clearance traffic pretty soon.

Bald Rock Fork Road is a County road but it is maintained by Charmane Oil. They have been graciously tolerant of the additional road wear from climber traffic. At the next RRGCC Board meeting we will be discussing the idea of helping Charmane with their road maintenance costs. Any input on this idea would be appreciated.

...Hopefully it will keep more people out of the SR.
My guess is that if people can't easily access the SR, then they are not going to be as likely to contribute to keeping up the mortgage payments.

Better access means more people, but it might (just maybe) mean more money.

I would like to see more carpoolage and less fear of dog hair in the car. It isn't fun when there are 27 + cars in the Sore Heel parking lot.... and seeing people driving separate bc of dogs or some such nonsense. and having to park sideways on a mound of dirt because of it. I feel like that road gets fixed more than twice a year, but it gets a lot of traffic. Let's not forget the 4-wheelers back there, too..... and I have seen countless people stop in the middle of the hill at the lode.... that isn't going to guarantee much upward progress in a car..... hence all the ruttage.

Why don't dog owners just drive their car and take non-dog owners? People who don't own dogs, don't for a reason: hair, slobber all over the windows, scratched up interior, excrement, etc.

FWD cars do not have that big of a problem with the hill. Pickups with nothing in the bed and (probably) not in four wheel bounce and spin worse then anything out there. If you have a truck or higher clearance car, (my neon never had a problem) should start going out the creek. it's a nice drive, rock bottom the whole way, and saves the hill.

Carpooling would be great as well. Not just to the So Region but everywhere. Quit being anti-social pricks and offer a ride.

Bentley and anyone else that once to ride my ass, er donkey, is welcome.

Anticlimber...

What road does this alternative route dump you out at?
