Margaret Thatcher was the leader of a country who once ruled most of the world.
The British are totally different animals from us. They have a no non-sense way of dealing with threats to they're sovereignty. The Clintons on the other hand, have a tendency to turn the cheek too much (my opinion only).

 Sure it was.
It's a valid question to wonder if a woman president will have less regard in the Muslim world.

The largest Muslim country in the world had one. She had difficulties, but she became president nonetheless.

A woman heads the Islamic Society of North America.

Muslim women are treated differently in different countries. Mostly it seems to stem from some attempt to hide them from the secular world. You are right, it is taken to deplorable extremes.

You'd vote for Condi Rice, so now your questions validity doesn't seem to matter that much. So it seems more like the question was just a vehicle for ragging on Hillary. That's cool too. It's a Hillary rant thread. The backpeddling is funny though.

Your political rant was sexist and defamatory of Muslims.

Maybe if I said "a women will have no idea how to negotiate with Muslims"
but a man would.

Maybe if I said God/Jesus said to have men rule and women be subserviant.

Maybe if I stated that my political beliefs/ position (whatever that is) is the only political position we need.

and finally, I don't back paddle, if I'm wrong I'm wrong, and have no problem admitting it, however you have not proved/disproved anything yet, when you do, I'll admit I'm wrong, or accept your apology.

If Hillary gets voted in, I am concerned that this will be seen as the pendulum swinging back to the radical left. No more pendulum swings. Bush and his ilk with their perceived mandate for the past six-seven years have fucked up social programs and foreign policy agendas beyond recognition. We don't need the reactionary knee jerk swing back to the left with a mega lefty. We need a centrist.

Agreed! We need someone we can all, or at'least the majority (right or left) can believe in. I don't know if he/she has presented themselves yet, but when they do  According to the Bible, when this happens it will be the AntiChrist, but I was thinking he was already here in the form of Anticlimber

A former Marine friend of mine refers to this as "shittin' in your own mess kit." Libbies have an overwhelming propensity for this type of action in even the most trivial political discussion. If there was ranking for this sort of thing, Alan would be king.

Y'know, I've liked every one of you guys that I've argued with when I've met you in person. But I could always tell you were having fun but I think I've found the exception to the rule. Zfucker, you are just a stinking pile of shit deserving of nothing but sorrow and agony.

I know you said "seen as", but Who's the mega lefty? Hillary is a moderate Democrat. She has been in NY.

Her husband was a moderate Democrat also, was even accused of taking a page out of the Republican playbook with his welfare reform and a balanced budget initiative (by rush limbaugh). In hindsight it looks like he did, since the page seems to be gone. But really, in spite of the banners they dust off every election, they've not been fiscally conservative for over thirty years.

I know what you mean lurkist, but the answer is that any Democratic nominee will be "radical left" by default. The Right has fully adopted their tactics for campaigning.

i'll admit, i definitely heard what i wanted to hear in previous posts. truth be told, i am not even sure that hillary is my top choice. i just get testy when it is her gender, rather than her political views, that are viewed as a problem.
