dmw, SikMonkey has conducted a study already and reported back a few years ago that coffee makes him "shit like a goose through a screen door." That's gotta be dehydrating!

I was responding to a different post, kirker.... TankAzz and I disagree on coffee and dehydration. She probably knows more about it than I do.... I think it can make you shaky, for sure. Fear too will make you shaky.

Meadows and SikMonkey, never drink Rodger's five lb. coffee at the New! Ever-- your bowel evacuations will be like nothing you have ever experienced!

For anyone who follows up with this forum to help with the same problem.

Its been almost a month since I cut coffee consumption to 16oz's or one cup the morning before climbing.

It has allowed tremendous leeps farward.
(I'll leave out the spraying)
But I have alot more fun now.

technically, a diuretic will only make you pee more. it does not speed up the processing of water into waste... it'll only make you expel your waste more often. If you stay properly hydrated, a cup of coffee will not MAKE you dehydrated. Caffeine is only a mild diuretic anyway.

This post brought to you by JB's justification of his coffee addiction.
