What do you think of people that show up at the crag without a climbing partner expecting to TR your routes and/or bum a belay?

I agree with anticlimber on this one.

I haven't met anyone would would "expect" or "assume" that you would belay them or let them TR your rope.

Any people along those lines I've met bring their own gear or are very aware of their position and quite polite.

But, maybe there is a new rash of climbers out there who think that anyone at the crag is their slave.

I know that you believe that you understood what you think I said, but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

yeah, its cool if pple catch a ride as long as they have their gear. and using their rope to set up a TR is cool too. i'd rather do any of that before carrying them out on a stokes to an ambulance or medichopper.

*RRO, i got the rack out all the time we just got to find time to get out there together some day...

What I love about running is you can meditate while running. It's a peaceful place.

Hell it to me 20 years to realize that "Dancing with My Self" wasn't about a guy with two left feet.

I would try to be helpful to most people who would approach me at the crag, most likely they are not locals who may not have alot of time, personally I am content to hit the bouldering spots or hike when I don't have something lined up. Empathy can be a good thing but soo many have that its all about me attitude.

The first time I went to the Red I went by myself, but I took my shoes, harness, and chalkbag just in case I found somebody that would let me climb, but I didn't have the intention of jumping in line, I just wanted to be prepared. I think it was like, a year or so ago, and I really was intimidated. But I found that the people I met up with were down to earth people, and climbed pretty safe from what I could tell. I met Sarah from Torrent, Anticlimber, and some other people down from eastern ky. So I felt secure for at least that day. I was able to tr fadda and really enjoyed my day there.

Now that I climb and have my own gear, I am more confident in myself and more established. I've learned everything from people who, I believe, God has sent to teach me how to be safe. I found climbing partners through this website, so I owe much to Ray and Michelle, whom I've never met.

I'll belay anybody cause I know how to be safe, however being belayed by somebody I don't know is iffy. We all know why. But I'll be open to things that I am comfortable with.
