I agree with the above posters, ya gotta be careful with who you buy cameras from. I've been teaching photography for the past 9 years and since the digital age, I've seen some pretty shady "Nikon" cameras come through the classroom.
I was just looking through my Equipment list and I noticed that my Nikon lenses all have US in the begining of them although the camera serial's do not...but they do say Nikon USA. I bought all of them from Provident Camera here in Cincy.
If it's not Nikon USA and something goes wrong with it, then it could get quite expensive to repair it, if it can even be repaired in the US. While the outside of the camera's look almost the same, the insides can require different tools for repair. I found this out the hard way with a lens I bought off Ebay.

Good choice, or from the sites Mazz and Neuro listed - digicam interweb fraud is big time these days. www.dpreview.com might also have some good links to resellers.
I've been looking for a supplement to my Nikon owners manual for my D50- anyone have experience with any books or that $12 guide that is sold my Nikon as a quick reference? it takes me an hour and a half to watch 60 minutes
I bought the camera! It's F'ing crazy spending that much money on just one thing. My camera is worth more than my car! But, I'm super psyched and hope to take quality enough shots to start contributing to the photo threads on here. Thanks for all the help guys. I'm heading to Indian Creek (Utah) on Friday so hopefully I have something good for you on Monday
