That is more than most physicians or indian chiefs. Plus your own crag. Sounds fishy. I would have to see the books before I believed this.
yea, thats what I would do. Question one of the only people has given 150% support to the climbing community.
Your statement should be made only by your accountant IF you could/choose to purchase it. Otherwise, it simply is bad form.

very sad news but I can understand perhaps wanting a more private life. Thanks so much for being more than kind to us climbers, something most people wouldn't even have considered. I can only pray the new owners are half the folks you are.

OK. I do not know Mark and I am also grateful for Torrent.
So please don't take offense,
...but if you put it all out here on the forum then it's fair game to question. I would like to know the whys, everyone just eludes to 'moving on'. Retiring? Bored? Health? Burn-out? Take the money and run? Seriously, someone should pick this place up in a heartbeat if it does make that kind of money, and perhaps it should be a climbing consortium. Does it take running the B&B, the restaurant, the Via and everything else, year round, to make it profitable?
If all this is too much for the forum, I would like for someone to PM me the particulars. Consider me an interested party. (As everyone should be.)

defender,
Several of your questions can only speculated on this forum. The only way to get such answers are to inquire Mark himself. He is currently in Bolder, CO but could be reached via phone. I am quite sure those seriously interested in the purchase of Torrent can contact Kathy (his wife) and she would have him contact them.
I do hope someone cool can/will purchase Torrent Falls.

I am not questioning Marks support to the climbing community. I don't know Mark personally, so I am not questioning his credibility, either. This was put in a discussion forum, so I am discussing it. I was merely puting my thoughts out there for other to express theirs, either in agreement or disagreement.
As for you who made fun of / attacked me for my sig, I don't really care. As you can see my best accomplishments are 5.10's and don't compare to your 171 routes that YOU sprayed and are much more modest than the most of your routes. So why pick on a fellow climber that is just out to have fun? And if it makes me feel a sense of accomplishment by putting it there, then by God I am going to do it. I don't care how much flaming I get for it. Go ahead make fun of what brings me happiness, whether hunting, 4wheeling, or whatever. You are just a predjudice idiot who has to put people down just because they are not like you. That is the whole problem with this world. People like YOU.

Leave him on the cross and set it on fire. It would provide much more entertainment value.
