I get to boulder in bishop for new years and that is hard to beat!
i bet i could beat that: you could have taken the job in bishop and decided to not spend the next year get weaker than a noob. i'm not going to feel comfortable with you belaying me when you come back, might have to teach you about the brake hand and all. you'll probably come back and get all psyched about your new proj, brother stair. it's a good thing a few 5.6 and 7's have been bolted.. those might even be above you're weak ass when you get here..

nyc will make you soft, softy

A jump drive, so I can transfer my school work without having to continually burn stuff onto CDs...a 155 piece tool set, a new saw, four new DVDs, and my father-in-law got me a very cool Spyderco rescue knife with a custom made case.

The best is a surprise backpacking trip to the Smokies this week with a friend that's back in town visiting. His wife got sick and had to bail on him and my wife was willing to let me go for a few days.

Actually the best was all the cool stuff my kid got and seeing the look on his face as he opened each new thing. He's 2 and a half and this was by far the coolest Christms with him yet. He was ripping the paper off stuff and flinging it back over his head. Every time we'd get done opening presents at one place he'd say, "I want more presents!" It made my day when out of all the new stuff he got he wanted to play with the wooden log truck we made him.

Wait till he starts making truck noises as that big rig is pulling the grade up the kitchen sink.

I love you too paul....

hey you should apply for the job in bishop. then you could live there, get paid, and get strong. I know the position is still open i suspect you have enough of the right skilzz to go for it.

we will see if I get weak in NYC. I suspect I would get stronger faster had I taken the job in bishop but i think i will still get stronger on the mean streets. dodging gangbangers and herion needles in central park just to pull down on some dirty eliminate, its an all around fitness plan.

if nothing else I am earning enough to fly out and do some training at the red a few weekends a month. and you thought you got rid of me.

I got the Silver Spoon cookbook. It is the all time best selling cookbook in Italy and has only recently been released in English. I heard on NPR that there is a waiting list for it, wonder how my aunt got me a copy? Anyway it has over 2,000 recipies and is badass.
