i thought "having chiggers" meant that you just had a rash until about 2 months ago. no clue it was actually an insect. :shock:

Actually, it's not (the cure). They don't really burrow into the skin. They leave behind a little suck tube and some digestive juice that causes the irritation. At least that's what it says on the internet so it must be true.

Actually they stop where they run into tight clothing so when you're wearing a harness...

All ticks must die. Thankfully, you can usually find them before they burrow. Now that is one nasty insect.

I have plucked a tick off my leg, thown it on the ground, squashed it with my boot and the thing still just walked away. Does it take a hammer?

J.J. uses a hammer drill on the ticks. It is quite effective!

When I was little my mom used to kill the ticks that bit us and put them in a jar in the freezer just incase we came down with some deadly disease and we could trace it back to the ticks...how redneck is that!

we made sausage out of the ticks that fill up with beagle blood.mmmmm.

when the ticks invade your groin area, we nicknamed it the TCU...the Tick Collecting Unit

so going from from a road trip, the question was "did you check your TCU?"
