Yep, I am pulling the father's day card and taking three of the four kids with me to Left Flank. My dad is in Nebraska so he will be getting a card and phone call while I hope to be pulling hard.

Great temps and good times this weekend. Did a few new-for-me routes, plus the first pitch of Hollywood Blvd. So if you were thinking about trying it, the spider webs are clear as of Saturday. Does being held in place by them count as aid?

And, I hear Ms. Meadows sent Mercy, the huff!!

Great weekend at the Lode. The weather was great.
met a guy named Matt with long skinny arms and another guy named Frank who is trying to sell a car.

Artsay almost got HSB...next time...I think she ended up getting Stain again though.

We spent our Father's Day at the Flank. I was dubious about the choice of crags, but thanks to Muir Valley it was empty.
The Mercy Wall is as good as ever. Did laps on Dynosoar and Mercy. Wicked pump. Sore today.
I was around the corner when Meadows ticked Mercy. A jubilant cry rang forth...

Saturday was great. Got close to 1000 ft. of climbing in. My forearms were locking up by the end of the day.

Met some climbers from "back in the day." Heard a story about Souders climbing Africa without the crack and taking big whippers on gear.

Had a close encounter with a black rat snake. The snake was halfway up a route that I got on and he would not move out of my way. Be careful putting your hands into big iron oxide pockets. That is where he retreated to, finally, at his own pace. He was going to strike at me as well when I got within a couple feet.

Most definitely. My son(15) and daughter8 went with me,for Father's Day, to Draper's in SoIll. It was a great day. Started to get my lead head back.
When we got home my daughter was tired and fussy and told her mom(my wife) that she wanted to be like a normal family and go out for dinner on Father's Day. She said wanted a different family. She changed her mind later.

That and I made my first attempt at leading trad. I placed once cam on American Crack and freaked out. Canuck had to bail me out.

Speaking of Canuck, the Little Engine Who Could had some nice [sport] ticks this weekend. The gal is coming along!
