I just watched the whole thing with the other features last night. To watch Ben on "God's Own Stone" and Andrew on "Transworld Depravity" is a joy. They are both so methodical in their climbing and really make 5.14a look almost effortless. Even though I'll never climb at that level I think there is a lot to learn from watching somebody who does.

iirc, the FAist (Andrew) told me that he wants it to be called "Triple Sec." i think he said that he paid someone $50 to bolt it for him so people have been calling it "50 Bucks"

neuroshock, Andrew didn't pay anybody to bolt it for him. Greg Martin and Bryon Boyd bolted it. They then told Ben Castle that he could try for the FA and joked that he would then owe the 50 bucks, as that was about the price of the hardware. However, a hold broke up high on Ben's FA attempt and before he was able to come back and send it, Andrew did so. Sooo, Andrew may want it to be called "Triple Sec" (which I think refers to the three difficult sections of the route), but the 50 Bucks was what it was tentatively being called before Andrew (whoever he is) sent it.

ah, gotcha. sorry for my poor/misinformed memory.

if it was tentatively being called "50 Bucks" before the FA, and the FAist wants it to be called "Triple Sec," which is more appropriate? i thought that FAists, generally, got the naming rights.

Thanks for all the additional info. on the name of this route. Tripple Sec is the best name as the climb has 3 cruxes. Plus the first ascentionist gets to name the climb... even if they didn't bolt it; however, the FA party will usually let the bolter name it (if they want to) as a way to thank them for their work.
Lest we all forget... climbing is a mostly meaningless pursuit that we do for fun.

Has anyone else had a sound problem ? I think it may be the way my dvd/tv player is set up but my RRR DVD has the same silent spots as the premier did. Talked to Spence, he is doing all he can to find out whats going on and apologized many times. Not complaining at all, just wanted to see if anyone else had the problem so we can narrow down some possibilites.

Other than that I thought it was a pretty good flick. It was cool to see kids around all the time pulling down and to finally see the moves on some climbs I will never get up.

The fruit and the slack line make me laugh everytime I watch it. Has anyone watched the extras at the end ? Pretty funny additions.

All and all its worth buying and putting in the normal climbing porn roation.

Yes, I have the sound problem when the DVD is played in the DVD player hooked to my TV. I do not have the sound problem, however, when playing the DVD on my laptop with a movie viewer.
