I didn't do anything this weekend. Still looking for my soul...
In other news, Dr. Bob, you totally kick ass. Will you marry me?

diggum, i got on bongo with has very nice stances the whole way up and is nice for a first lead b/c you can pretty much plug gear anywhere and work on thinking about gear rather than freaking out about your feet.
still, i think my next one will be snake. that route is fun for certain!
also, further exploits into the unknown...despite dancing on stage and being in one of the slide shows...when confronted with some people at the crag with whom i've climbed in cincy once or twice...they totally didn't remember me at all from any of the above events but definitely remembered yasmeen. ah well, my shining star is eclipsed by yasmeen of the mountains. namaste my dear, namaste.

Thanks to everyone who volunteered or contributed in other ways to make the Rap n' Rawkus such a successful event. Thanks especially to Miguel and Susan for hosting us all and to Dario for managing the parking. I will post more about the event on the coalition website later when I get a chance.
I enjoyed the entertainment both nights. Dario's slides and presentation of the plaque to his mom & dad was a high point for me. Brought back a lot of memories. The video was awesome overall but what I liked about it most in comparison to a lot of other videos is that it was all about the climbing and not about the personalities of individual climbers.
And after it was all over I did get to climb. Went to Muir with Dr. Bob & Sunshine on Sunday. Got Social Stigma second go and onsighted Makin' Bacon. From the tour around to Great Wall, Solarium, & the Great Arch I can forsee a complete mind meld of Team Muir and Team Suck. Monday was a slow day but did get up to SBR for some trad and a dip in Swift Creek afterwords.

Dug a basement footer for our cabin (on the cliff across the Valley from the Indy Wall). "Dug" is only partially correct. Dug through 4 feet of dirt and pounded through 4 feet of Corbin sandstone. Absurdly hard work, but nice to have bedrock as a footer.
Climbed only one route on the weekend, but it was worth it. JJ's superb new Great Arch line: "Lip Service." Flailed at that V4 crux for fifteen minutes. Anyone else like this route as much as I did?

Saturday = wedding shit, beer drinking with co-workers
Sunday = discovered the Feds can't seem to afford to mow and trim the field at Gladie, looks like a fun project to take in before the wedding. Took a quick hike out the Sheletowee to Cloudsplitter and relaxed under a sunny blue sky.
Monday = work, stomped around in Little Hardwick Creek with a guy who found a prehistoric fish fossil there several years ago. The fossil should go on display in a museum in Cincy soon. Oh yeah, they think the fish was forty feet long with big pointy fangs.

Climbed at the Gallery and the Volunteer wall on Saturday and then went to Roadside that afteernoon. Proceeded to get hammered that night @ Miguels while watching the RUckus then sat around the camp fire til 4am while Junior was smart and went to bed around midnight. Woke up Sunday morning and told Junior " LEts go home I am still drunk." Spent Sunday afternoon recooping and then had plans to climb on Monday but that broke through. So only one day of climbing but the routes I got on were classic TK routes.
