I like the govt. issue A-G boots. They take dilithium crystals and shot a wave of approx. 3ft amplitute and a rather slow frequency out of phase with the earth's gravity wave to cancel the two out to create an A-G zone. It's a little smoother ride.

Add some slides, sling back pumps, and Nike Airs and you're in my closet! Ah, a man after my own heart!

Don't wear sandals except to cross Swift camp Creek. No snake bites for me, plus I stub my toes a lot.
Used to do the whole Guide Almighties for everything thing. But now its just whatever doesn't smell the worst when I put on my shoes in the morning. I absolutely will not wear running shoes on the trail anymore. Everytime I do I yank an ankle.
Columbia hikers, bought a new pair of Vasque Rangers that do pretty good.

I helped rescue a woman that fell while hiking because of her sandals (in Utah). Wear protective shoes in the wilderness, please. I don't count many of the approaches in the Red as wilderness, though. More like "the woods." Except for Wall of Denial and that area you're never very far from help. Ain't the RRG great?!? It's so great, I'm going to go climb in it tomorrow!!! WEE HOOOOO!!!!
Di You're gonna have to wear some of those slingback pumps climbing just for pictures.

I was wearing sandals around Phantasia and got freaking raped by some huge yellow jacket right on my ankle. An hour later, I couldn't get my climbing shoes on. Sucked. Boots for me.
