Reformed? What are you referring to? I stiffed Miquel one time which he was aware of. I have also tipped him very generously most every other time I have eaten there.

Miquel and I are friends, I was a local and quite frankly don't fall into the category of truly stiffing Miquel. I was just relating the story because it was funny.

On a serious note, people who do stiff Miquel should be hanged and quartered. I am aware of one dirtbag who left with over a hundred dollar tab to the man.

 just playing with ya...

is it miguel, or miquel? I guess I always thought it was with a "g", but not really sure.

one other thing..is it a donation for camping, or is it a use fee for camping? if it is a donation, then no one is required to pay at all. I think he might do this for liability reasons. If he specifies it is a use fee, there might be some liability on his head. Lawyers, am I right?

Well, I've done it! While reading this thread, I remembered that I was supposed to pay Miguel $1 for the muffin I ate this morning! He didn't have change for a $20, and I told him I would give it to him when I got pizza this evening. I drove home a diffierent route, and now I have to change my vote!

I will pay him!

Totally agree; Miguel provides a great service for the climbing community and it is our responsiblity to make sure the service he and his fam provides stays intact and is as lucrative to him as it is to the climbing community.

camping is not paid for with 'donations' - it is definitely a fee. He has it posted in the front windows. Please don't stiff Miguel.

Clean up your dog shit when you are staying there, too, and keep your furry friends leashed as Miguel requires. His rules actually do apply to everyone...

Camping in the Gorge is not free. Why don't you try it sometime. Park your car overnight in the FS area without a tag. Go on. You know you hate the gubment.

I haven't camped at Miguel's yet but I'm a cranky old man that likes to sleep.
