They make you belay? Tell them to hook up a gri-gri and belay themselves. Then you climb!!

What is pig talking about?
Ya we are bolting 5.13's for the masses! Cuz we aint got no ethics and/or historical context.
Unfortunately, some of us are considered historical context - ourselves.
Listen to Wes..........he is on the right track.

Maybe all you nonbolters should come see how it's done! Wes, they do use gri-gris and ascenders but are still on belay to pull them in. Then they can hook and/or place gear in order to be able to drill on the really overhanging stuff. We even place belay bolts at the bottom of some of the routes to help in the effort!

I have seen where people who bolt alone put a bolt at the bottom of a route-to-be-drilled, then run a fixed static line to the anchors and use that to hold them in as well. I have just drilled one short, kinda overhanging route, and it was hella hard work. I couldn't get a hook in for one bolt, and just had to pull myself in with one hand and drill with the other. In summer time heat and dirt. Work for sure.
Rebolting is much easier, since you all ready have a bolt there to clip yourself into while drilling.
