For you Aleve (Naproxen) addicts ...
Why is it people assume a drug will only have one effect in the body? Even the most advanced drugs in development, intended to act on only one pathway, end up having side effects no one counted on. Science has made huge strides, but we are still decades (or longer) away from being able to predict how drugs will affect the whole body long term. Even "all natural" substances can have detrimental short and long term effects at varying dosages.
The theory of evolution is just as stupid as the theories of gravity and electromagnetism.

I have never heard of asparin being detrimental to the heart. I do know that during a heart attack it is one of the few drugs that measurable decreases morbidity and mortality.
As for tylenol, I don't take it because I drink ethanol containing beverages. Tylenol and liquor, bad duo. (Jazz and liquor, on the other hand, good duo). They both (tylenol and booze, not the jazz) do bad things to hepatocytes. Together, it's synergy. When I'm old and my kidneys don't work, then I'll switch to tylenol.
