Awww. There's that self-righteous indignation that we're all so fond of.

You're climbing with the wrong people then.

Prove me wrong then pianomahnn. I have found absolutely no sense of climbing community around chicago. where are all the hip climbers around here that never responded when I was looking for partners? I dont remeber you responding

This weekend was hot, but it still kicked ass!
I'll take heat and sweat over cold and numb fingers anyday.

This weekend and the climbing was great, but I think the ass-kicking was delivered by you, Yas! Your lead on Sam I Am was fantastic! I stand awake and amazed!
Fun hanging out with you and meeting Loren!

I just don't get it. How do you people convince yourselves that it is enjoyable to clibm in this heat?

Today was pretty nice. The key is finding shade.
Nice work leading Sam I Am Yasmeen! That's one damn fine route. Wish I could've seen it.
Climbing in the Summer Heat

It's not necessary to climb int he 'heat of summer' in the red. Get up just before sunrise and hike to the crag. Be there at the crack of dawn. It won't be in the 90's, more likely the 70's- perfect climbing weather. Around 11AM it's good and hot- I used to go back to Miguels adn get some icecream and chew the fat with freinds, read in the shade and bide my time. After dinner I'd head back out, fresh and rested for a few evening pitches, just as the locusts were starting to buzz. YOu can get 6-8 hours of climbing in this way, per day. The "drink all night, then sleep in until 11am" crowd rarely gets more climbing than that in anyway.
