I use a waterproofer that is available from Campmor. It brushes on and dries in a few hours. It works really well - I've waterproofed all of my topos with it - my set for hiking in the smokies was waterproofed several seasons ago and have help up fine.

Those look fantastic! The shading really clarifies what's going on topographically. Take a look at my climbing-specific map - you have almost all the crags that I thought of, and the in the thread where I posted it, several people have suggestions for what other crags should be added. (I haven't done a damn thing on it for a few weeks, but I'll polish it sometime soon.) The Solar Collector area crags are a bit confusing, but they would be the main thing I notice missing from your map.

Any guess on how long until we can get our hands on them?

Thanks Tom!

I looked at your map last week and it helped me get my bearings! Seriously, I think this site needs a map delineating the various regions and grouping crags in them...sorta like your excellent map. I especially like your ethanol fly-out symbol...alas, there is yet another beer trailer in Pine Ridge. And who can overlook the Silvermine Saloon where I suspect local cowgirls and boys come rodeo up the night.

I started a new thread for my map since I am in a new revision cycle. Check out: http://www.outrageGIS.com/gorge/sports

Cheers!

Hey Boyd, I had a few suggestions for your map. The symbol for Muir Valley is a little bit too far south (it's actually located on somebody else's property). Perhaps it would be better to place it near the main parking area. There are also various gravel roads that access the valley and were not included. I noticed too that there were no cliffline symbols showing the extensive network of giant rock faces that grace the valley walls. Maybe it would be possible to label a few of the various hollows since the climbing areas are very different and require different access points. There should be a stream coming out of Tantroft Hollow too. For a more detailed map of Muir Valley you can download it on www.muirvalley.com.

Finally, near Pine Ridge I believe it is called "Dessie Scott Childrens Home". Keep up the good work and let me know if you have any questions concerning Muir Valley since I know this area very well.

Happy Climbing,

The map looks awsome. Keep up the work.
