Depends on what your into. If all you want to do is clip ups then yeah the Red doesnt offer much below 10. But if your plugging gear you have years of moderates to play on.

There's really no explaining it though. If you don't get it, you don't get it.
And as far as the deciding factor for 'ranking' climbers. IMO, are they fun to climb with? and can they hold the smoke?
Yep, I like the way you think. Sorry we missed you last trip down.

okay, i'm jumping on the experience/other bandwagon...i guess.
i greatly respect those climbers who approach the sport with a voracity that surprises and inspires me.
people who will take 20 whips on brontasarus (*coughyasicough*) and keep at it.
people who challenge themselves and surprise themselves.
but, then again, i don't know if i would rank climbers. call that a silly/pansy/dropout answer but why do you need to rank them? maybe if you answer that question first then we'd know more about what the criteria would be.

I generally don't equate climbing with respect in anyway. I know too many people in all of the categories whom I do and don't respect. I dole out respect to all people until I feel they no longer deserve it.

This is one of the most bogus threads ever...why do you want to rank climbers, thats not what climbing is about. The only reason you would want to rank climbers is so that you could say that youre better than someone, who cares who climbs harder or whos been climbing longer?! respect or dont respect people for who they are not how they climb.

I rank climbers in my mind as the ones who care and the ones who don't. In the year and a half that I've climbed, I've seen the self-aggrandizing climber and the humble guy who bolted half the routes at the red. My vote is the one who is having the most fun, who is inspired by what they are doing and who gets joy out of inspiring others. There are also the fun, motivated climbers who grab their sac and go for it as well as the climbers who have the shit scared out of them every time they get on the sharp end but don't give up trying. These are the people who impress me. Oh and also...I have to admit it...I adore watching my boyfriend climb. He climbs purdy.
