Wow, is this suddenly why I don't feel like shaving anymore? It just doesn't seem worth the time. Especially when my legs are scraped and bruised, why worry about the hair? That doesn't mean that I don't ever shave, just not as often as I used to. Great! I can use this as an excuse now!

So, it is kinda funny my name comes up since I was getting way tired of the beard thing. I am now back to just sporting a goatee again. The full beard thing is OK, but it gets in the way too much.
I am basically neutral on the chicks with body hair thing. It really doesn't matter one way or the other. I know if I was a chick, I probably wouldn't shave very much, as I am pretty lazy. "Did I shave my legs for this" by Deanna Carter is one of my favorite country lines. I even renamed the unnamed 5.7 at dip "Did I tape my hands for this?"
It does seam that traddies are more likely to be a bit scruffy. Not sure of the reason though. Bouldererers are a more mixed up group - you have all levels of scruffiness.

This is great and all, but it doesn't mean that Brazilian waxes and trad climbing are incompatible, right?

Hmmm... after a week in Joshua Tree, I went another week without shaving. I think I've shaved only twice since then. You may have a valid point there...

We are forgetting the flip side of this. Just as trad climbers may tend to be a bit more scruffy, Sport climbers may be, well, a bit, shall we say, overgroomed?
Just as traddies don't use a roor in the usual places, sport climbers use them in, shall we say, UNusual places.

I think you are getting lost in the duality of it:clean/dirty;shaved/beard; scruffy/unscruffy; it is all the same and different....I like getting dirty and I like taking hot showers ; I like letting my scrawny facial hair grow awhile and then I like shaving it off; i like scruffing and then later unscruffing.
