After giving it some real thought (as opposed to the imitation in a can kind) I think part of it has to do with how it hurts your body.
Crimps do a real number on your joints all the way whereas with handjams you are just tearing off skin, that grows back much more easily.

So the Red has its traddies too ? Well there may be a lil more to this place than I first thought. Are the trad ratings as soft as the sport. I saw some pics in boulderdash a while back of a fella named Ray putting up a few trad lines around here. He looked like a lil twinkle toes struggling up what looked like a 5.9 and calling it 5.11. So who knows. Guess I may have to make another trip up here to see what the traddies have to dish out. Im not getting my hopes up.

Why would you go somewhere that doesn't get you excited?

I still need a few high end ticks to fill my trad tick list. I figured the trad climbs were as soft as the sport. That will make my sponsers proud. Its a game that has to be played sometimes. Climbing is in my heart as deep as anyone here. Sometimes you have to slum to pay the bills. So I figured this Ray guy I hear everyone talking about can take me around to his projects and let me warm up. Then the Red can awaken and explode.

Sounds like a tough existence... have a good time... though with as infamously soft as all the ratings are, I don't know how impressed your sponsors'll be...

Its all bout the #’s. If I can get all the warm up projects done here in a few visits it opens a whole new world of sponsor ass kicking. It wouldn’t be a big deal to put up a big dog sponsor-pleasing route here among all the softies. And even if you didn’t the climbing media will sell it off for you, if you tell the story just right. No need to back up your shit. Claim whatever you want, cause that’s the way it’s been. I will follow the rest of my climbing big dogs with increasing #’s every trip out. I guess it’s the wacky weed that’s letting us push #’s farther in one year than they used to progress 10.
