I usually jump start out of my hammock while I leave my screaming kid and loose dog at the bottom to run around.
If I miss it's ok I'm usually falling on the first permadraw.

This sounds dangerous! Is the wire stainless steel? Are the branches weather treated?

For those not in on the joke, rjackson put up a super good 5.10 that features 10 or so feet of ladder-climbing at the start to get past some 5.12 moves, err I mean, "munge". If we are lucky, everyone will get the opportunity to climb his rotting contraption and the killer rock above at some point in the future... so donate to the RRGCC to help make it happen!! Not to worry, SSI will be on hand to inspect the key safety features of the woodworking before the route goes "public"...

I think a flying start may help on the direct start to non-starter at the darkside. I even tried to do one this weekend but failed in epic fashion. This made me sad because some friends and I decided the perfect name for the line, when it goes, would be Jar Jar Boinks. Alas, a good name means nothing without the strength to back it up.
