I remember insisting that my mother sleep in my bed once when she spent the night. I have a feather bed, down comforter, and feather pillow. Just as I was slipping into la-la land, my mother called out, "Good Lord, Honey, I'm sleeping in a chicken coop!"

I miss that little Bloody Harlan woman!

Your bed sounds like a fluff heaven, dipsi!

We just bought a new mattress last week and it is awesome. Since sleeping is one of Ray and mine's favorite thing to do we got a super nice one with extra fluff pockets on top. It's like sleeping on a cloud!

But I'm curious about this feather bed thing. Does it lay underneath the sheets? It sounds dreamy...

If I could afford a totally down bed, I would have one! I love tons of pillows and down comforter, soft warm blankets. MY favorite thing to decorate is my bed! Yummy sheets!! Right now Bryan has been replaced with a full length body pillow., helps prop up the belly & hips, sooooo comfortable! We paid almost $3,00 for our mattress set, which I am totally blanking on the make, but it is fat! Coming home Sunday night makes Fri & Sat not too bad. THru discomfort, You gain better appreciation for the finer things in life!

Feather beds of today go on top of the mattress. I buy an extra fitted sheet to cover mine. Duvets are available to cover, but sheets work nicely and cost less. I also buy an extra sheet to cover the mattress. So I have sheet on mattress, and two sheets on the feather bed to keep it clean. Once or twice a year, I air out the feather mattress outside to keep it fresh.

You can find them at Dillard's I believe, or that store that opens sometimes...Tuesday Morning? Land's end makes a nice one. Be sure it is channeled or the feathers will clump.

Gretchen, I also sleep with a pillow between my knees. This keeps the spine aligned. Since I have scoliosis, It really saves me from back pain. I also used a body pillow when pregnant; however, mine was an old feather bolster. I would still have one, but Lexi stole it. I also love to make my bed pretty. I have a big sleigh bed I bought from the Menonites. Very pretty!

I have a cousin who injured his back during the filming of a movie (he operated a crane). After spending a few nights on my feather bed, he bought one and says that he sleeps much better now. I love my feather bed. My bed is sooooooooo fluffy. And since my prince's were frogs in reality, I sleep very well alone!

At school. all the beds are these institutional beds that they got on discount from the prision down the road. Very cheap. They almost look like boulder pads, except for the wire frame! They are more comfortable than a bag but not by much!

Not me man... see at Miguel's you can just drink tons of NON CARBONATED BEVERAGES and pass out. Here at home you have to goto bed and the only thing that can make you sleep is the fact that you have work or school the next day. I'd trade the noise at Miguel's for work/school any day.

It wasn't the noise that woke me up. It was my lack of a good pillow and a soft bed. But I want to go back NOW!

Get a down sleeping bag... scrunch a bunch of it up and use that.
